SPONSOR NOW 100 x $100 = $10,000
for CARE AUSTRALIA!

My current total = $10,157.26 – amazing!!!

Ginni's current personal total = $7,065!

Thank you to all our amazing supporters. Ginni and I leave Monday 1st March. Donations are received up until March 31. Look out for photos early April.

During March 2010, Jane and daughter Ginni will cycle 350klms across Cambodia to help raise much needed funds for CARE Australia.

The 'I am Powerful' Women's Cycle for CARE Australia is a real challenge – in more ways than one. Firstly, I am NOT a cyclist. But after 350 kms over 9 days from Ho Chi Minh City to Angkor Wat, I should be quite proficient. I hope.

Secondly, although my $10,000 goal may seem ambitious, I am sure that it is achievable. Every small donation is gratefully accepted. So please donate from $10 to $1,000 – every dollar will go towards making a difference to real women's lives.

What a great gift.

CARE Australia in an international humanitarian aid organization which fights global poverty and places special emphasis on empowering women and girls to effect lasting change in their communities. From years of experience CARE has learnt that investing in women and girls is one of the most effective ways to help communities overcome poverty. When equipped with the proper resources, women and girls have the power to lift families and entire communities out of poverty.

CARE Australia – Defending dignity, fighting poverty

CARE is an international humanitarian aid organisation fighting global poverty, with a special focus on empowering women and girls to bring lasting change in their communities. CARE is non-religious and non-political, working together with communities to provide emergency relief and address the underlying causes of poverty. Last year, their work directly benefited more than 65 million people in 70 of the world’s poorest countries.

Women are adversely affected by poverty. Of the one billion people living in poverty, 60 per cent are women. Of the seventy-two million children who don’t attend primary school, 57 per cent are girls.

CARE recognises that improving women’s lives can be a critical first step towards enduring social change. They know from experience that when you help an individual woman, her entire community benefits.

When a woman is equipped with the proper resources, helping her become an active participant in her community, she can earn more, live longer, access education and make decisions that can guide her, and her community, towards a better future.

She has the power to change her world, you have the power to help her do it.

Support CARE’s 'I am powerful' campaign and help women and girls play a vital role in fighting poverty. Join CARE to help women live, learn, earn, and lead.

Help her live by giving her access to adequate health services, educating her community on gender-based violence and discrimination, and providing support in emergencies.

Help her learn by giving her the education she deserves.

Help her earn by giving her the opportunities for employment and new livelihoods.

Help her lead by giving her the ability, and the voice, to change her circumstances and those of her community.
